KidzArt is a drawing based program. We teach children how to look at a picture and make it their own. At the beginning these students will tell us that there is no way they could ever draw the project at hand.
Through our instruction, not only do they draw it, they produce their own masterpiece! The drawing at the end of class is just the end result. What goes on during class is really where the magic happens.
Part of what we teach is that mistakes are okay. So, when 'mistakes' happen, our instructors take these kids through a brainstorming, problem solving exercise on how they can make that 'mistake' work into their piece. As they figure out how to make it work, they see that the mistake turns into an asset and they build the confidence to problem solve and make it work."
Volunteer Information.
All independent schools rely on voluntary support to thrive. At Glenwood Country School, our parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends work to ensure our well-being through their participation in and support of special events, regular programs and classroom activities.
Our volunteers are always chairing or assisting with fundraising events, service hot lunches, volunteering in the classroom, and more!
To help sustain the School's tradition of excellence, we ask parents to consider making us one of their top philanthropic causes while their children are enrolled.
PTO
All parents and guardians of current students become members of the Glenwood Country School's PTO . Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in, and support, PTO sponsored events throughout the year.
PTO was organized to support educational objectives. This support includes carrying out a fundraiser to enhance school life, supporting school functions, and encouraging unity, cooperation, and understanding among school faculty, staff, and parents.

This program has been developed to give our students a competitive advantage in problem solving, congeniality and leadership within their careers as students, but also so they can each apply the program to real-world situations.

Glenwood Country School is proud to not only develop social and education skills amongst our students, but also set up a core system of value and character building blocks which help our publics become more enriched individuals.

The value of citizenship and what is means
Compassion in society
Fairness

Perseverance
Responsibility
Respect
Self-discipline
Trustworthiness
Glenwood Academy doesn't want students to get lost in the crowd. This is why we are dedicated to small classroom sizes.
All of our classes are limited to ten students. We want students to be treated like the individuals they are, not a number. Teachers should be able to know what student is not present and the reason why.
With public education, oversized classrooms not only decrease a student's ability to learn but offers a chance for a student's absence (and reason why) to be overlooked.
Our school offers private education that is a relief for concerned parents. Our students and teachers develop a relationship, and sense of community, within the classroom. This helps improve each students skill set, attention span and offers some essential safety benefits not found in the public sector of education.
Researched Based Education.
Glenwood Academy personalizes the students education experience. We offer advanced learning sessions amplified by a multi-sensory student culture.
Our researched based curriculum is aligned with Maryland's Voluntary State Curriculum. Furthermore, all techniques used are supported by our advanced atmosphere.
Both campuses are non-profit facilities and both employ the support of several specialist within, and relating to, the educational field.
Diversity
Glenwood Country School has a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination of any type, politics and/or bullying. The school does not classify children, or their potential, on the basis of race, religion, socio-economic status or ethnic origin.
Our school is based on research and not religion, social preference or popularity of unexplained theories.
All parents seeking a tailored plan for their child's educational career should consider setting up a tour.
Allergy Prevention
Glenwood Country School understands food allergies can be a matter of life or death. As a result, we pay strict attention to each child's dietary needs and food allergies.
Community
Glenwood Country School knows who your child is. It is a simple concept, but a concept lost amongst public education. Our affordable, private education allows classrooms to remain small while allowing a sense of community remains large.
Glenwood Country School is set amongst the most beautiful landscape in the U.S., and welcomes new students on a first-come, first-serve basis.
